Public Health Museum
Learn the history of public health with a focus on infectious diseases, patent medicines, mental
health, and the training of nurses as you tour the old Administration Building of historic
Tewksbury Hospital. View historical artifacts as they tell the story of both Tewksbury State
Hospital and the evolution of public health. Explore the grounds and discover the campus
connection to public health.
All school tours are $10.00/student (teachers/instructors have FREE admission).
Tours begin at 10:00 AM.
We recommend making your reservation at least one month in advance.
Please note: School Group Tours will be scheduled only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Unfortunately the Public Health Museum can only accommodate school groups that are no larger than 24 students.
Details the museum will need from each school group:
- Name of school
- Number of students, year in school, and name of school program
- Number of teachers
- Two preferred tour dates and how much time you have (we recommend planning for about 2.5 hours)
- Contact name with email and phone number
- Email us at [email protected] with School Tour in the subject line
The Museum Coordinator will contact you to arrange the details of your tour.
Please let us know if there are any students who need accommodations.
