Outbreak!

If you’re interested in a future in public health, then Outbreak! is the program for you! Take this opportunity to explore the history of public health and how that history informs what is happening now in the fields of epidemiology, ethics, disease surveillance, nursing, emergency preparedness, and more!

This FREE interactive 5-day program is one of the only ones of its kind. Work with peers to tackle interesting public health problems and learn from professionals in the field who are addressing these issues every day!

Yearly Program

Outbreak! is an interactive, challenging program designed to introduce high school students to the history and importance of public health. Students will learn about epidemiology, investigate a simulated disease outbreak, learn about the wide range of public health careers, and much more. Two field trips - on to the State Public Health Laboratory in Jamaica Plain and the other to the Lowell Community Health Center - will also be part of the week's experience.
