The Hospital Room

The next small room resembles a typical hospital room of the 1920's. A room like this was often used as a teaching room as well. The metal beds were high off the floor and required a footstool for patient comfort and safety. Notice also that the patient's supplies consisted of the bare essentials.

The medical instruments which you see here are typical of the era. Near the far door is a woolen nurse's cape. The cape was given to a student nurse as part of her uniform.
