The 21st Century
The 21st
Century presents challenges in public health that we could not have imagined
only a few years ago: Childhood obesity, drug resistant strains of germs,
pandemic flu, West Nile virus, EEE, and emergency preparedness in the wake of
terrorist attack are just a few of the challenges public health agencies are
dealing with today.
As we have in the past, Public Health professionals and
agencies will work to educate, prevent, research, treat, and work to find a cure
for the ills that plague society. Our mission at the Public Health Museum
is to be proactive in providing up-to-date information and promoting public
awareness and preparedness in addressing these issues.
